Embracing the language of love, Copper Face Jacks is the story of a girl from Kerry and boy from Dublin who fall in love, even though they don’t speak the same language! Audiences embark on a musical journey that not only celebrates the overcoming of cultural barriers, but also the nightclub, Copper Face Jacks; a place that welcomes people from all walks of life.
The production is Paul Howard’s second of his trilogy of puppet-musicals, following his first: Anglo the Musical and paving the way for his third, Dermot Bannon: The Opera. Copper Face Jacks is a renowned Dublin nightclub that Howard believes that have many positive and happy associations. In his former years, he went to ‘Coppers’ for a night out, appreciating and indulging in its inclusivity.
Copper Face Jacks The Musical is a story developed around the essence of the club. The lead characters travel on a West Side Story-esque adventure, overcoming obstacles and embracing diverse cultures.
