Fans everywhere have been waiting with bated breath for the Avengers: 4 trailer to finally drop, and today has finally been the day.
Marvel Studios dropped the first look of the upcoming film earlier as well as finally confirming what the title will be, and things are looking pretty bleak for the remaining Avengers after Thanos’ dreaded snap.
Watch the trailer for Avengers: Endgame below:
Avengers: Endgame shows the remaining Avengers coping in a world where 50% of the population have disappeared. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) is floating alone in space with no food and only a days worth of oxygen remaining, speaking into the remains of his suit as he leaves a message for who we can only assume (and hope) is Pepper Potts.
Back on earth it seems that Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson) are putting together some kind of plan with everything in the balance, unsure if they will be successful, with Cap taking time for once last glimpse at his old love Peggy (remember what happened last time he did that?).
“We lost friends,” he says. “We lost family. We lost part of ourselves. This is the fight of our lives.”
“This is gonna work,” Black Widow reassures him.
“I know it is, because I don’t know what I’m going to do if it doesn’t.”
Avengers: Infinity War ended with Thanos “retiring” to a countryside meadow, and by the looks of things Cap and Black Widow might be planning to take the fight there with a brief glimpse at Thanos’ armour hanging up in the same meadow.
It also appears that Scott Lang has made his way out of the Quantum Realm, dropping in on Cap and Black Widow at the end of the trailer, as well as brief looks at Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffllo) – the latter of whom appears to be looking for Scott as well as the Black Panther’s (Chadwick Boseman) genius younger sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright).
Fans have understandably, lost their collective mind and are throwing out as many theories as they can ahead of Endgame‘s April release date, wondering if Shuri was lost to the snap and if Scott has even realised what has happened, as well as how Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) may make an appearance following her original story due out in March.
