Mike Shinoda has announced that The Post Traumatic Tour is heading over to the UK and Europe next March.
The tour will begin at the Columbiahalle in Berlin, Germany, carrying on to France, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland and more with a special show set aside at the Roundhouse in London in partnership with Kerrang!, having being name their Person of the Year.
Shinoda’s solo debut came as a response to longtime friend and Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington’s passing in 2017, working through the feelings of grief and loss in “real-time” with the fans. “It’s a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness,” said Shinoda. “If people have been through something similar, I hope they feel less alone. If they haven’t been through this, I hope they feel grateful.”
Speaking to NME, Shinoda explained that “If I felt a certain way on a certain day, I wanted to communicate that soon, so that we [the fans], we were kind of on the same page. That ended up being important for me. I put out the first three songs in January, and then basically put out a track every month or so after that until the album came out, because I knew that it would effectively catch the fans up with how I’m doing – in a way that most important allowed them to realise that I’m not in the same place that I was, say, 10 or 11 months ago.”
Best known as the co-lead vocalist of multi-platinum Grammy-Award winning band Linkin Park, Post Traumatic marks Shinoda’s first foray into solo releases following his side project Fort Minor. As part of Linkin Park, Shinoda has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and earned over 5.5 billion views on YouTube since their record-breaking debut with Hybrid Theory in 2000.
