The pop queen confirmed she was back in business this year with the release of her new album ‘Golden’. It soared to the top of the charts to mark her sixth number one album in the UK, and was accompanied by a glittering promotional tour that dazzled her generations of fans. Proving she’s still got what it takes to put on a show following rave reviews of the Golden Tour, the 50-year-old singer announced she’ll be playing four outdoor concerts next summer. Catch Kylie at various cities across the UK, including Woodstock, Manchester, Edinburgh and Scarborough from June to August.
Miss Minogue first stole our hearts in the 80’s with her role in the Australian soap opera, Neighbours. Whilst playing the lovable ‘Charlene’, she simultaneously pursued her musical career, which quickly gained momentum and inherited a broad international fan base; ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ (1988) instantly charmed fans in the UK, making it her first number one hit in the region. She later released the infamous duet ‘Especially For You’ (1989) sang opposite her on-screen and off-screen beau Jason Donovan (‘Scott Robinson’). Kylie then left acting to focus on music and has since spawned a host of dancefloor anthems. ‘Spinning Around’, ‘In Your Eyes’, ‘Love At first Sight’ and ‘Dancing’ are a few of her iconic tracks spanning decades in the industry, and lest we forget her signature song ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’. Her summer shows will revisit her catalogue of songs whilst integrating hits from ‘Golden’.
‘Slow’ it down with Kylie’s number one smash hit from 2003.
Kylie took to social media this morning to announce the big news. She will be causing a (lo)commotion at the Hampton Court Palace Festival in London for two nights in June, then journeying to Woodstock to headline Nocturne Live Festival at Blenheim Palace. Her fourth show will see the ‘Goddess of Pop’ honour the Eden project in St Austell early July, then taking it north to Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl, Edinburgh Castle and Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre to conclude in August. Her festival prominence has spurred further rumours for Glastonbury 2019’s headliners, which takes place between June 26th and June 30th – noticeably during a short gap in the singer’s current summer lineup.

Joining the Aussie superstar on stage for her Woodstock extravaganza will be Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is also embarking on her own UK tour. The singer-songwriter-model debuted at number one with Spiller’s ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’ in 2000, before releasing her own album ‘Read My Lips’ that featured ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ and ‘Take Me Home’ in 2001.
Tickets for the seven summer shows go on sale on Friday 16th November. Follow Kylie to be alerted when tickets go on sale.
