A new album and mega tour mark the return of Dido

After a five year hiatus and 15-year break from touring, the British singer is back!

A new album and mega tour mark the return of Dido

Dido’s haunting vocals are unmistakable. After featuring on Eminem’s ‘Stan’ in 2000, and on the soundtrack to the lovable Christmas rom-com, ‘Love Actually’ (2003), the British singer became instantly recognisable both at home and internationally. She achieved chart success with ‘Stan’, which peaked at number one in twelve countries, and later with her solo single ‘White Flag’ in 2003 that climbed to number two. Dido’s first studio albums ‘No Angel’ and ‘Life for Rent’ were also UK chart toppers and among the top 40 of the UK’s best-selling studio albums of all time, demonstrating her ability to enchant audiences with her stunning, melodic voice. But in 2013, Dido released her ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation album, and has since been on hiatus...until now. A new album is set for release in March; ‘Still On My Mind’ is the fitting title to her upcoming material, and will be celebrated with a huge 27-date-tour.

The album arose from Dido’s passion to “capture the feeling I still get from listening to music, just that rush like you don't need anything more than this.” It was written and produced by the singer and her brother and long-term collaborator, Rollo (of Faithless). “It was simple, I only wanted to make another album if it was with him”. She describes it as a natural, home-grown product; “it was made in such an easy way, all the vocals recorded on the sofa, a lot of it recorded at home.” She continues to describe it as “an absolutely magical experience".

Her debut single from the album ‘Hurricane’ is a taster of what can be expected from ‘Still On My Mind’, infused with synth pop, electronic pulses and electric guitar riffs. Have a listen below:

To promote her anticipated comeback, Dido will be visiting several cities around the US and Europe, including selected dates in the UK and Ireland. The tour will be her first in 15 years, and is expected to include some of her new tracks alongside fan favourites like ‘Thank You’, ‘Here With Me’ and ‘Hunter’.
