Marvel Studios has officially begun work on getting the word out about Spider-Man: Far From Home, with a new countdown featuring on their website (only 240 days to go!).
The highly anticipated Spider-Man sequel joins Captain Marvel and the-as-yet untitled Avengers 4 coming out next year, with production on the sequel reportedly finished. It seems a little surprising that Marvel Studios has begun work on publicising Far From Home before Avengers 4 considering that it is due out in July - after Avengers in April - but the secrecy behind the most ambitious crossover ever markets itself.
But, it could also be because of the unique deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures concerning Spider-Man, where Sony is in charge of marketing and will likely want to start sooner.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be our first real look into what life after the Infinity War will be, with both Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. confirmed to be leaving their roles leading fans to speculate the fates of Iron Man and Captain America in the upcoming sequel. If their theories prove true, that could leave Peter Parker without his mentor and heroes, making for a very different - and darker - tone for his next solo film.
So far, we don't much else about the plot besides that it is expected to begin "minutes after" the events of Avengers 4. Peter Parker will be taking on Mysterio with the help of Nick Fury and Maria Hill, whilst Michael Keaton is expected to reprise his role as Vulture, who is one of the few that knows Spider-Man's true identity...
Spider-Man: Far From Home is due out July 5th, 2019! Make sure to follow the film here to get reminded when it arrives in cinemas near you.
